Media Center Coordinator
As a 1986 graduate, I am proud to be a part of the RV family. After twelve years as the media specialist at BCIT-Westampton, I returned to my alma mater in 2004. My formal education includes a BSEd in English and Library Science from Shippensburg University and a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Texas, as well as supervisory certification from Rutgers University. Professionally, I have served on several boards and committees, including LibraryLinkNJ, the statewide library cooperative which serves multi-type libraries and librarians and the American Library Associaton's Intellectual Freedom committee. Most recently I have lectured at universities and written articles for professional trade journals on the topic of teens and intellectual freedom.
In the Library Media Center we offer each student access to a variety of materials for both personal and educational needs. Our program is fully integrated with the curriculum, which means every year each student receives formal information literacy and bibliographic instruction from the certified media specialist; this prepares students for college and for making educated decisions while evaluating the resources they use for information. We provide valuable, quality service to RV's students who are our first priority and are encouraged to be lifelong learners.
